Sex Robot - You've Come a Long Way Baby

Robots and robotics have come a long way, baby! Well, it was only a matter of time before this one... A sex robot!

Now, I'm not quite sure what the attraction might be, unless perhaps someone is a necrophyliac. But, at the recent AVN Adult Entertainment Expo, a press conference was held in which a sex robot, TrueCompanion, debued to the public.

TrueCompanion is the new millineum sex toy. She is endowed with artificial intelligence which allows her to carry on conversations with her... hmm hmmm... " master? " TrueCompanion both listens and talks, as well as " feels " . Of course, TrueCompanion comes in an assortment of personalities and hair colors. And the price tag? A measley $7,000 to $9,000. A montly plan for behavioral modifications will cost you extra.

Douglas Hines, the creator of TrueCompanion, said that he originally invented the doll not for sexual purposes, but as a " health care aid " for the elderly. Marketing, however, created insurmountable obstacles with its " tremendous regulatory and bureaucratic paperwork. " So... a full fledged robotic sex toy was apparently the only viable option.

OK

Like I said, it was only a matter of time. If a person can imagine something, they will make it, if it is within their means.

Yet, I cannot help but wonder. What will happen when people start falling in " love " with their sex robots? Will they petition the State for wedding liscenses? Or, if technology continues to excel as rapidly as it has been and artificial intelligence in robots continues... will one robot fall in love with another robot?

Kind of reminds me of the 2004 movie I Robot , with Will Smith.

What will they think of next? I'm almost afraid to ask.

I went on line to check it out. It is nothing more than a sex doll with a speaker in its belly. The young version was particularly creepy.

Sadly, there is a market for these kinds of dolls. There is a subset of men in society who are so marginalized and incapable of a normal relationship with a normal woman that these dolls would appeal to. While it is creepy, it is better than the alternative to these guys being filled with resentment towards women that they eventually crack and rape a woman or worse yet a young girl.

This says something about the human condition but I'm not sure I want to hear it.

What will they think of next is right. Surfed Google to read more about this. The male version, Rocky, available as a gay robot or a heterosexual robot is currently being developed. Oh my! Looks like blow up dolls are a thing of the pass.

Rocky? You got to be kidding me! Ohhh, I'm going to miss the good old days when everything was so simple. You know, a man and a woman - in the flesh.

Hello Mr. Mark, I think tomorrow's science is heading towards elimination of human feelings. Sex is one which is binding man and woman together in our generation. May be with these sex robots men will have most obedient "wifes" used for that purpose only. God only knows!

I'm not going to check this out, I will take your word for it. Just another edition for the moral decay in our society. Linda D
