Wireless Electricity - The Future is Here

Imagine a light bulb that comes on without any wires to deliver electricity to it. Science fic
tion, right? Not any more. Intel has developed a technology that delivers wireless electricity and during a recent demonstration they lit up a 60 watt light bulb without wires!

Although wireless electricity technology is still in its infancy stage the potentials are enormous. Imagine the elimination of all those dangling wires behind your computer, being able to put household appliances anywhere you want without being limited by electrical outlets, and even being able to use some of those household gadgets outside of your home or business without the need of extension cords.

The technology works through what Intel is calling a Wireless Resonant Energy Link,  the same process by which one tuning fork will cause another to resonate. Although the current equipment is a little on the bulky size and only delivers wireless electricity a short distance, Intel is determined to improve this technology within the next five years.

Keep your eyes on this revolutionary technology, folks, because it just might provide a great investment opportunity. The future is here.

Where can we get those? I don't suppose the light bulbs in the kitchen or home office have been changed yet, have they? Interesting information. Love you

HI Mark,

Amazing how fast technolgy is expanding and growing everyday. Go to bed at night, wake up the next day and overnight, something new is invented.

Hi Angie, Isn't that the truth? Things seem to be changing so fast that I don't even know what half of them are any more. Thanks for your comments.

Hi Mark. I didn't know that anyone had actually managed that yet. Heard about the possibility of "broadcast" power quite a few years ago. Think about what that might mean for electric vehicles...no huge, messy and expensive storage batteries to maintain and replace. What a thought.

Hi Dianne, Intel actually gave a demo recently. From what I saw it looked fascinating. And, when you think about it, it sounds totally feasible. Thanks for your comments.

Hi Mark,

Not sure this is such a great thing... Do you suppose wireless electricity will simply add to the harmful exposure to Electromagnectic Fields, EMF? There is already a big concern in regards to Health Dangers From Wireless Laptops and power lines. Not sure if increasing efficiency as in this case, is such a great thing. Any idea if EMF is higher and a potential concern?

Daughter Nature, You have expressed a very legitimate concern. I am aware of the correlation between EMFs and cancer, as well as other problems. I am not sure what the residual damage is with wireless electricity, but I would hope that they could minimize it or eliminate it all together. Thanks for your comments. And, I am glad that I surprised you!

Hi Mark.

I'm glad that this is starting to hit the "mainstream" media.

Technology like this was invented years ago (around 1900) by Nikola Tesla. It is said that in his laboratory he would lights lamps without wires. There are even some pictures of him holding lit light bulbs in his hands, (without wires.)

He was building a wireless broadcasting tower on Long Island when funding ran out. It is said that he also lighted 200 lamps without wires from a distance of 25 miles (40 kilometres.)

Thanks for bringing this up. Great information.

Hi Nick, Thanks for that bit of information. It doesn't surprise me that such technology had been experimented with in the past. It is sad that such discoveries get "lost" in the shuffle of life. I appreciate your comments. Hey, I've joined your fan club and would like to invite you to join mine!

Hi again Mark.
It is sad. Think where we'd be if some of these technologies hadn't taken a back seat to 'progress' (the electric car for instance.)

Thanks for joining my fan club. And thanks for the invite to yours. I accept.
Cheers.

Hi Nick, Thanks for joining! And, yes... I do think of where we would be. It seems to me that history has a pattern of frowning upon some of the most wonderful inventions.

Hi Mark,

How soon do you see the adoption of 'Wireless Electricity" ? (1 to 3 yrs, 3 to 5 yrs or above 5 yrs)

Where will the adoption be seen ? Developed or developing Countries?
