The Secret - A Poem

Wordcasters
Instincitvely I prowl
Through the dark recesses of my mind
Snarling at the shadows in the alleys
Those dark forbidden places
Which we have known
And cannot forget
As if some SECRET
Silenced by the dust and the shadows of the ages
Should emerge screaming and shouting and say,
I WAS HIDDEN FOR A SEASON BUT I AM HERE TO STAY
Instinctively I snarl and say,
Get thee back Dark Secret
And GO AWAY
Away, the autumn winds blow
Dry brown leaves
Across the SNOW
Of winter
Away to the alleys they go
CRACKLING into dust
In the shadows
Instinctively I PRAY
Silence the dust O, LORD
And take away my shame
A SECRET thought forgotten
Leaves an everlasting stain
The crackling in the shadows
Is the madness in my brain
So send Your sunlight to my shadows
That I may NEVER be the same
