Political campaigns can get down right nasty. The presidential campaign of 2008 is no exception. Accusations and allegations between contenders and their supporters have spiraled into a cyclonic cloud of confusion that so blurs reality that many voters are left completely in the dark when it comes to ascertaining the truth. In our high tech world of instant messaging and e-mails every imaginable scenario can permeate the hearts and minds of untold millions of unsuspecting citizens at lightning speed with misinformation that both slanders and maligns the character of the politician. The urban legends that are conceived in this environment can so adversely affect our social dynamics as to forever change the history of our nation. One such urban legend that has recently saturated the Internet is the allegation that Barack Obama is the Antichrist. Such a malicious and chilling accusation can easily deceive the unwary and those who have only a limited knowledge of the Bible. Does the Bible suggest that Barack Obama is the Antichrist? Let us take a look at the allegations and compare them to what the Bible says.

The urban legend alleges that Barack Obama is the Antichrist because it claims the Bible "says":

  1. The Antichrist will be in his mid 40s.
  2. The Antichrist will be a Muslim.
  3. The Antichrist will be elegant in speech.
What the Bible does NOT say about the Antichrist:

  1. The Bible does not say that the Antichrist will be in his mid 40s. As a matter of fact the Bible does not indicate any age whatsoever for the Antichrist.
  2. The Bible does not say that the Antichrist will be a Muslim. The Bible does not state any particular religion of the Antichrist.
  3. The Bible does not say that the Antichrist will be "elegant" in speech. The Bible says that the Antichrist will speak blasphemies against God.
For those whom are interested they may find more information regarding what the Bible does say about the Antichrist in the Book of Revelation. Chapter 13 is particularly helpful.

Just for the record, Barack Obama is not a Muslim. He has been a Christian for over 20 years.

To Marty from Georgia,

I say your comments are the best to put us all back to reality. Jesus's teaching are about love and life. Fear is the enemy and the best way to get rid of fear is FAITH is God thru Jesus Christ.

Kare,

The Bible does not mention the "Revised Roman Empire". That is an interpretation of the scriptures. But, you are right that Jesus will put a stop to it all when he returns!

Wow. First of all the idea of an Antichrist is a man-made fallacy - it is not in the scrolls that were the basis for the Bible and I'm not even sure it's in the Bible. You can put as much stock in the idea as those of Nostradamus - man-made rhetoric of world ending/cleansing events. Instead of reading the Bible, how about you read the history of the Bible - you might gain some perspective on the fidelity of the book itself. I agree that religion knows no party - it just so happens that Christian Conservatives latched on to the Republican/Conservative party because of ideological similarities. The truth is "true" Republicans are simply fiscal conservatives not social conservatives (i.e religious zealots). Anyway I can tell the average intelligence in here is on par with Muslim scholars who refuse to acknowledge anything but the Qur'an. If you destroy the world it will be due to your ignorance, intellectual retardation and group-think psychosis, not God of any derivation. Also, in a bit of a tangent - I really wish the South had seceded in the Civil War. I'll let you figure out what I mean by that.

Hi Anonymous,

Your comments reveal that you apparently have a tendency to be the very things you are lamenting. Apparently you are not a Bible scholar, if you were you would understand that statistically speaking Nostrodamus' predictions cannot hold a candle to biblical prophecies that have been fulfilled.

God bless you,

Barack Obama IS Muslim Mark. What have you been smoking? Obama is of Muslim decent. He trained in an Indonesian school for Muslims. He pretends to be Catholic when he says things about America like,"arrogent." He had a lottery drawn when he won the election in 2008. His number was 666. That is a clear indication he follows the devil and is an Anti-Christian. Obama fends for the Muslims then Americans. He hates Israel and wants both Israel and America destroyed. Obama himself is a mental and psychological terrorist.

Cory,

My relationship with the Lord forbids me to say what I think of your interpretation of the facts.

the bible teaches that the anti-christ will be a deceiver. so yes his speech should be elegant. it also says that he can make himself appear as an angel of light. it also says he makes himself to be God (as in GOD of the Christian bible) so yes his faith will be either of jewish (judaeism?) or christian. although it does not state his age it does state the age of christ so this part will be pure speculation I think he will be the same exact age as Christ when he walked the earth.

There are many strange things about OBAMA!!!!! Alhough he might not be the ANTICHRIST he does have something about him that is very evil.

The Antichrist:
1) He will be DIFFERENT from the previous Kings
2) He will try to CHANGE the set times and laws
3) Have a different religion than his ancestors
4) Extreme charisma draw enormous crowds
5) Great Speaker
6) Given authority to rule for about 42 months
7) Will oppress the Christians with unchristian politics (likely support gays & abortions so to set the generation free of guilt)
8) Somehow his name or him in general will mean three 6's (666)

Full name: 18 letters
6 + 6 + 6 =
18

Birthdate: 216 day of year (Aug. 4)
6 x 6 x 6 =
216

Birthplace: 21.6 degrees lattitude
6 x 6 x 6 =
216 (21.6)

Address/Zipcode in Illnois (home governing state):
6 0 6 0 6

Winning lottery number in Illinois on Nov. 5 2008 (DAY AFTER ELECTED):
6 6 6
next pick:
7 7 7 9
all biblical #'s

666 = Antichrist
777 = Perfect Completion
9 = Gods Judgement

November 5, 2008: Antichrist Perfect Completion Gods Judgement

In Hebrew, Greek and Aramaic Lightning = Barak (Reference: Strongs Hebrew word 1300)
Matthew 24:27 (First talking about the false messiah) "For as LIGHTNING comes from the East and is seen unto the West, so shall the coming of the Son of Man be (Jesus will return in this time)."

Obama raised in East, Indonesia and heritage in East (Africa/Kenya), President in West

In Hebrew Vau (represented by u or O) is a connector of words, mainly a conjunction. Bama (Reference: Strongs Hebrew word 1116) means "the Heights (of heaven)"

Luke 10:18 (Jesus speaking who did know some Hebrew): I saw Satan as LIGHTNING FROM HEAVEN.

" I saw Satan as BARA(CK)Q O BAMA"

What are the chances that the president of the most powerful nation on Earth's first AND last name could be found in a direct quote referring to Satan?

Also don't directly translate "Lightning from Heaven" because its "the Heights" which means Bama and in many places in the Bible "the High place" (refering to heaven) was translated in many original texts as "Bama" such as Isaiah 14:15

Hi Gracie,

Thanks for your comments. However, I'm not sure I come to the same conclusions.

People have drawn similar conclusions pertaining to other politicians throughout history... Ronald Reagan, Henry Kissinger, even the pope.

God bless you,

Mark

But, while we're on the subject, Nostradamus claims that an anti-Christ of significant power will arise from the land of the "fez", which i believe means, Turkey. After all, Turkey is a nation that has a wound in its head because of it's removal from the European powers. Doesn't it specify that in the "revelations". The beast with ten crowns, one with a wound. Just thought I would mention it.
